Arabic

Arabic is the primary language used for communication in the Middle East and is considered a“critical language” by United States government agencies. A knowledge of Arabic can further careers in law and diplomacy, business and trade, journalism, and education.

Arabic language study at Holy Cross can be incorporated in a Concentration in Middle Eastern Studies through the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies. Completion of five semesters of Arabic satisfies the language requirement for the major in International Studies.
